This webinar was held on January 9, 2026. Dr. Asher Lubotzky is an Israel Institute Teaching Fellow at the University of Houston and a Senior Research Fellow at the Israel-Africa Relations Institute. He writes about Israeli-African relations, both past and present, and Israel’s engagement with its “southern frontier.”His upcoming book, Shifting Solidarities, uncovers the surprising early connections between Israel and the South African anti-apartheid movement and will be published in June 2026 by the University of Virginia Press. He holds a PhD in History from Indiana University and an MA from Bar-Ilan University. |
